DON'T INVITE THIEVES!

It's a bit of a bolt from the blue to hear of burglaries in our parish so it is sad to report a couple of incidents on the same evening. The cases involved things being removed from unlocked vehicles and from houses where the valuables in question were in view through an unsecured window. Please don't take the risk; keep your property locked away!  Don't forget that advice on the type and level of precautions is freely available from the local Police.

The Inaugural meeting of the Blackawton Business Club (BBC) took place at The George Inn on Thursday 16th June.

It's time to welcome back Jacque Gibson and Phil O'Toole who have been co-opted to the Council again.

First of all, many thanks to Trevor Bird who has stood down from the Council.

CHANGES AT THE COUNCIL

Only five people put their names forward for the Council elections.  This means that there will be no poll but Ruth Coe, Alan Mallyon, Simon Rake, Stanley Wreyford and Chris Wills are all automatically ELECTED.

What with the election coming up, the publication of the Planning Inspectors views on our “50 new houses”, the work starting on the Parish Plan and continuing work on the Churchyard Wall, things are certainly busy just now.
